Dave Davis
Lead Guitar, Backup Vocals
Originally from the small town of Clay in central West Virginia, David was exposed to music at a very young age. He began playing drums and percussion at age 11 and first began playing guitar seriously at age 14 under the influence of such bands as Stone Temple Pilots, Van Halen, and Metallica. Throughout his high school and college years, there were rarely times that he was not involved in some sort of musical project. With his former band, Satchel Brown, from Morgantown, WV, David recorded one album, but his passion has always been performing live on stage.
After receiving his law degree from West Virginia University, David moved to Las Vegas in November 2007. After doing several auditions with other groups, he was finally offered the drummer position with local Fleetwood Mac tribute group, Fleetwood Nicks. However, when approached to help form Heart Alive and play guitar, it was too good to pass. He now splits his time between both bands along with fellow Heart Alive members Brad, Julie, Danny, and Benjamin.
"Primarily knowledgeable of Heart's music from the 1980's, having the opportunity to really explore their entire catalog in order to be part of this band has been a great experience for me and will result in my growth as a musician".~ Dave Davis~
Danny Buss
Bass Guitar
Danny grew up in the heart of Chicago's music scene playing drums, guitar and bass. His passion for bass was noticed by a band opening on tour for Deep Purple. Danny's life on the road with this legendary band gave him not only the experience of performing in front of stadium audiences, but the drive to do his own original material. Danny began writing his own music in Chicago, while playing in a Heart/Fleetwood Mac tribute opening for acts such as Cheap Trick, Grand Funk and many more.
Since relocating to Las Vegas, Danny has played in several different national tributes including "Unauthorized Ozzy", where Brad Gillis has joined them on stage, as well as the national Fleetwood Mac Tribute "Fleetwood Nicks". Danny was the obvious choice to be Heart Alive's bassist, not only because he knows this music inside and out, but because he will kill us if we are not the very best.(ha)
Brad Torchin
Lead Guitar, Backup Vocals
Brad grew up in a musical family and started strumming guitar when he was only 8 years old. He played for years in the Southern California club scene, while studying music composition, along with software engineering at UCSD. After many years of playing Rock, Blues and Jazz throughout the southwest, he joined a national Fleetwood Mac Tribute (Fleetwood Nicks) as the challenging part of Lindsey Buckingham. Brad has always admired the incredible talent of Roger Fisher of Heart --as well as Howard Leese--and decided he was ready for an even bigger challenge--to play guitar & keys for Heart Alive. Brad recently handed the keyboard role to Benjamin Winbery (also keyboardist in Fleetwood Nicks) in order to concentrate more on guitar & mandolin. Brad is also the co-writer of the original project Surrounding Sara.
Benjamin Winbery
Keyboards
Ben started playing piano at age 8 while growing up in San Antonio, TX. He later resided in Austin, TX for 11 years before heading West. Ben played professionally for 10 years touring across the U.S. with multiple bands including the hit Motown group the Marcells and the Great Rock and Roll Reunion Tour, which included Chuck Berry, Chubby Checker, Martha Reeves, Little Anthony, Sam the Sham and many others. In 1994 Ben decided to hang up playing music full time and went back to School to earn a B.A. & MBA. Ben has been playing part time ever since opening for acts such as Pat Travers, Oingo Boingo, Mark Farner, The Commodores, Pablo Cruise, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Daniels, The Coasters, The Platters and many more!
